Mango blazer – H&M top – Tommy Hilfiger shorts – Nelly clutch – Invito sandals
Hope you’re all doing fine! The ones who are following me on my facebook and or instagram (@formulafarah) account know that I’m on a holiday for 5 weeks! Just me, my bestie and our backpacks exploring Singapore and Indonesia. Not the typical kind of a holiday, but that’s exactly the way I like it. It doesn’t matter how you look like, it doesn’t matter where you’re staying. You’re free to go or stay where ever you want to and above all, you will really experience a country and seeing all the postive and negative sides and get to know the local people.
Right know I’m in Singapore in a cosy hostel writing this post. My bestie isn’t feeling very well: unexpected things, that’s what you have to deal with on these kind of holidays. Yesterday, we eventually got us a place to sleep after strolling down a couple of hostels carrying our heavy backpacks on our backs, all of that while she was fasting during the day. It makes it all a little bit harder but it also makes it an unforgettable holiday.
Singapore has been a beautiful place so far. It’s Asia, but it doesn’t look like the typical Asia (i.e. smog, lots lots lots of people, lots lots lots of motor cycles/tuktuks and street vendors) at all, except for the people.
We will stay here for the next three days so that gives us all the time to see all the ins and outs of Singapore. And hopefully we can spend (i.e. afford to) one night at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, the hotel with the rooftop infinity pool :D. I already (what else ;)) sneaked into a big mall yesterday that turned out to be not-so-good of an idea. Because… I instantly fell in looooveeeee with a couple of items in shops we don’t have in the Netherlands. Shoot me. I cannot carry all those things with me. Right now I’m making excuses for myself on how I will be able to do it haha! I should have planned Singapore after Indonesia since it’s known as as shopping paradise! Fail number 1 so far 😉 :p.
On these kind of holidays, it’s not about looking fabulous and fashionable. With other words, no heels for me! But somehow I just cannot ignore my looks so I’ve been called a so called flashbacker lol.
Flashbacker it is haha! Comfortable is still the key but there are so many ways to look a little bit fashionable and comfortable at the same time :)! Backpacking doesn’t mean you have to wear old baggy clothes at all!
Now something about this outfit! The perfect business casual summer outfit. Love how these shorts are peeping through under the blazer. The fabric is so sophisticated and soft. They are not tight but also not to baggy. In-between it is. Combined it with the strappy tops (have you read about them in the previous post?) and some heeled sandals. The perfect outfit for a business meeting/dinner/lunch and or gathering.
Hope you enjoyed this super duper long story and I will get back at you soon!
P.S. Don’t forget to follow me on instagram (@formulafarah) and on facebook for daily pictures of my trip and of course of what I’ll be wearing!
P.S. If you have any tips or must-sees for Indonesia and/or Singapore, I would love you to share it with me!
